Gypsy Dreams

Spring & Summer 2013 - Tales of wandering, of dreaming and discovery. Knit or spin up a story in yarn and fibre. Romani people are reknowned storytellers with an oral tradition in story, song and dance which inhabits worlds between reality and fantasy. The shawl is ubiquitous in images of Romani women - a possession of value, fashion and status.

"Gypsy Dreams" Spring & Summer 2013 Colour Collection will be launching at The Frolic in Toronto this April. Come by and see Raventwist at the
Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, Kobayashi Hall, Booth #8. There will be a giant banner with the Raventwist logo so you can't miss us. I will be having a special sale and bringing along a few Wave Maiden and Hugin & Munin Kits.

Raventwist is new on the fibre circuit but I have been selling my hand-dyed products for the last five years as Rocky Mountain Dyeworks. Raventwist was created while I was recuperating from a broken pelvis earlier this year. Working on a short story that included a pennannular pin of a celtic braid with a raven (the pin still features in the story), one idea led to another, and Raventwist was born.

I mostly dye yarn & spinning fibre, some rug hooking wool and a few hundred silk scarves a year. The silk scarves are sold through a sister company, Rocky Mountain Wildrags, and are bought almost exclusively by cowboys!
